Southern STyle Sausage Gravy

Ingredients
1 Pound Loose Pork Sausage
2 TBSP Flour (Can use GF flour as a substitute!)
2 TBSP Butter
4 C Whole Milk
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
Begin by browning the sausage on low to medium heat and then remove the sausage from the pan, ensuring to reserve the fat.
Add butter to the fat and allow it to melt.
Evenly add the flour to the pan and mix to combine with the fat and butter to create a thin roux.
SLOWLY add whole milk to the roux, whisking constantly.
Depending on how thick you like your gravy, reduce or add more milk. Allow gravy heat thoroughly.
Add sausage to the gravy and stir to combine.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
Feel free to add a dash of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika for some extra flavor!
Milk can be reduced and chicken broth can be added as a supplement to also add some extra flavor.
